Snakes and Spiders

This morning was a very busy morning for the kids.  Andrew and Isaac found a small snake in the front yard and Andrew very quickly stunned the snake and then I took care of it a couple of minutes later.  We don’t know what kind it was, but were informed that “when in doubt all snakes are poisoness”.  Then, the boys found this big spider.  The toad will give you a perspective of how big it was.  The hand in the picture is Andrew’s, I would not touch the thing.  Though the spider looks lively, it is most assuredly DEAD!

100_5741-11.jpgThis is a picture taken from on top of a termite mound behind the house.  (We stay in this part of the home and have two bedrooms and a full bath.) The mound must be at least twenty-five feet high.  You can see Paul in the yellow shirt running around the side of the house and Andrew in the Sand pit with Becky Smith.  Termite mounds are a great place for the kids to play or someone to just sit and look at the sunset.  This mound is termite and snake free, so don’t worry! The picture below is of the front of the house.  We are grateful to the Washer family for allowing us to stay in their home while they are on furlough.
